to help those in Louisiana!
Chesapeake Disaster Response
is planning another rebuilding trip to LA over
the Thanksgiving holiday. Depart Nov. 21 arriving
back
home Nov. 30. The project will involve roofing, flooring,
hanging
drywall, finishing drywall, painting, yard work, etc., helping
with cooking for the team and other jobs determined
by the
local project manager. Cost, $400.00 per person to help defray
travel and food cost in LA.
Specific
details in the planning stage. (travel depends on the number who
respond) This is a trip considered before
Gustav. There
was still need from Katrina now there is even more need after
Gustuv.
DR training not
necessary for volunteers to make this trip. All that is required is a
willing spirit and a strong back or a good cook! This
is your
opportunity to be Jesus hands and feet, helping SDA's and
others.
Thanksgiving dinner will be in LA this year!!! Bring the family! Over

TX - Albuquerque,
New Mexico radio
station, 93.3 KOB-FM asked for help from New Mexico to
help the survivors of Hurricane
Ike. A semi-tractor and trailer was donated by Jeff Bentley
of Bentley's
Auction Company. Their company also donated the fuel and a
driver to deliver
the donated
goods to the Adventist Community Services Disaster Response Depot in Keene, TX.
The ACS volunteers in Albuquerque, NM, under the direction of Sean Robinson, Adventist
Community Services Director for the Texico Conference, along with many community volunteers,
sorted the donations and packed them in the semi-trailer. There was a great outpouring of generosity
from the local community as the on air personalities did live broadcasts from
the donation site.
